#worldsingingday

Founded in 2012, World Singing Day, (21st October) "aims to unite the global family through song and be a catalyst for world peace. It is an annual, worldwide celebration of our common humanity that creates community, connection, and global well-being. World Singing Day is not religious or political, nor does it promote any one country or culture. It aims to transcend those differences and celebrate what we all share as human beings." In Cumbria, Dave Camlin from Mouthful is planning a singing event at Friar's Crag on Derwentwater near Keswick from 5.30pm. Getting involved is easy - you don't need to already sing with a choir, read music or even think of yourself as a singer. Simply download the lyric sheet and turn up for a wild sing! We'll record a version of What a Wonderful World as our contribution to the day's events. Members of Dave's Sing In! and Sing Owt! community choirs will be there to lead the singing, so we'll make a great sound together!

Dave is also running a singing workshop at Keswick Museum in the afternoon 1.30 - 4.30pm where you can learn some more of the songs we might song. Click on the links below to download scores and MP3 recordings of any of the songs if you want to practice in advance.
